On Pinkney Hall, Kenny Joe often plays one or two sets with a theme. Join Kenny Joe for the next three Fridays on WRCT from 9 AM to 10 AM for three special themed shows.
From the man himself, here are the themes for the next three weeks:
- December 23 – Once again we put the “Christ” back into “Christmas”! Most songs will be about Jesus Christ or at least contain a reference to Jesus Christ. And we’re not talking about the tired old Christmas songs that you hear on the muzak everywhere else this time of year.
- December 30 – On the eve of New Year’s Eve, we’ll play a few songs by musicians who passed away in 2011.
- January 6 – We’ll be preparing for our annual trip to Zlatne Uste’s Golden Festival in New York by playing music that fits into the expansive definition of “balkan music.”
