Another Radio Premiere on WRCT: Laura Orshaw!

WRCT has scored another radio premiere!

The new single from Laura Orshaw, a duet with Trey Hensley titled “On Her Own,” will make its radio debut on WRCT’s Whiskey Before Breakfast on Wednesday, March 9. Laura’s singing and fiddling are attracting national attention in the Bluegrass and Americana/Roots areas. This new single will show you why.

Mandorichard expects that Laura’s “On Her Own” will air at about 11:35 a.m. on March 9, and again at about 9:35 a.m. on March 17. “But tune in for the full show,” he says. “I’ve got lots of music from all over the folk spectrum on the program — including a medley of ‘fiddle tunes’ recorded by Guy Lombardo!”

Réjean Brunet of Le Vent Du Nord: Quebecois on WRCT!

Wednesday, March 2, Réjean Brunet of the Quebecois band Le Vent Du Nord will be appearing on WRCT’s Whiskey Before Breakfast at about 11:20 a.m.! Tune in to learn about maple syrup, the hurdy-gurdy, and the living and evolving culture of high energy Quebecois music — a combination of Scottish, Irish, and French music imported to Canada.

Le Vent du Nord will be appearing in Pittsburgh on March 12.

Al Harlow Subpoenaed to appear on WRCT

Canadian rock ‘n’ roll superstar, Al Harlow, of the band PRiSM fame joins Court’s in Session Thursday, March 4.

As bassist and leader of PRiSM, Al has won a Juno award (Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) and has multiple gold and platinum albums to his credit. PRiSM’s “Spaceship Superstar” was a huge hit in Canada with success on American FM radio, and was played by U.S. Space Shuttle astronauts.
